acquisition complete

Though it's common knowledge now, I figure Adobe's acquisition of Macromedia is worth an official blog post for posterity. The acquisition completed on December 3, 2005.

One key impact on Flash is the integration of PDF into the universal client project, code-named Apollo. Note, however, that Apollo is not the same thing as the Flash Player web browser plug-in; Adobe has unequivocally confirmed that there are no current plans to merge Acrobat Reader with the Flash Player web browser plug-in.
