Using an external settings file, you can easily customize the look of uMiniChat to match your site's look and feel, on a per-page basis! With only a few tiny changes to uMiniChat's settings file, we created these different themes, all of which are included with uMiniChat...
- Customize uMiniChat's look and feel via an externalized XML settings file:
- Set font face, size, and color.
- Set chat foreground and background colour.
- Set the chat welcome message.
- Choose from supplied themes, or create your own.
- Run uMiniChat on multiple pages of the same site.
- Limit each page's chat to its own discussion or allow various chats on multiple pages to communicate. For example, the chat above is running one conversation from three pages: this page, moock.org's flash page and moock.org's blog.
- uMiniChat remembers user names, so each user only has to type a name once.
- uMiniChat can automatically log users into the chat.
- See who's chatting by clicking "Users" or typing "users" as a chat message.

To add uMiniChat to your website, simply post the chat files to and specify the location of your Unity server in the chat's config file. Even if you have no Java or Flash experience, you can easily run uChat on your website by renting Unity 2 Multiuser Server.
uMiniChat requires Unity 2 Multiuser Server to work. There are two ways for you to get Unity 2 Multiuser Server:
- Install Unity 2 Multiuser Server on Your Site
If you can run Java applications on your website's server, the cheapest way to run Unity 2 Multiuser Server is to buy it and install it on your site. Server licences start at $99 for 100 users.
- Rent Unity 2 Multiuser Server Hosting
If you can't run Java applications on your website's server (or simply don't know how), you can rent service from a Unity hosting company. Get full details here.
